Back to Basics is here!

For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Dr. Garret Kusch and I am one of the chiropractors here at Performance.

I have some exciting news to share with you.

Many of you have heard (for some time now) that my book is almost finished. Well guess what? I am so happy to share with you that my first book is not only completed but IS NOW AVAILABLE to purchase on AMAZON.

“Back to Basics: A surprisingly simple solution to back pain” is the story of my own personal experience with back pain spanning 20+ years and the solution I discovered that led to a complete resolution of my symptoms.

Just to give you a little background. My back pain began when I was about 15 yrs old and just to give you an idea of what I experienced (and some of you may be able to relate to some of this) – I struggled to get out of bed in the morning, I was always stiff and achy, getting dressed was a chore – putting on socks and pants was exhausting, sitting gave me some relief but it was short lived, driving a car was achy and painful and I couldn’t wait to stop to get out of the car, walking in a mall was torturous. I had to sit every 5 minutes, I avoided squats and deadlifts in the gym out of fear that my back would explode.

I got no relief. This went on until I had my first incapacitating episode when I was playing professional soccer in Belgium. A MRI showed 2 herniated discs, osteoarthritis degenerative disc disease and degenerative joint disease and I was only 25 years old. From that day my life changed forever and that injury, for all intents and purposes, ended my professional career as a soccer player.

I moved on and became a chiropractor determined to help, not only myself, but others with their back pain and help them get rid of it forever. However, after practicing for 7 years I realized that although I felt like I was helping people I wasn’t helping them heal for good. That frustration and dissatisfaction took me down a path of exploration that led to the discovery of the solution that healed my back so that I no longer experience back pain at all. And I mean none at all. Not an ounce of pain and no stiffness either. My back feels like the back of my hand.

Well, as a result of this total resolution of my back pain I felt I needed to get this information out to everyone. And so as you may have guessed, this is why “Back to Basics: A surprisingly simple solution to back pain” is available.

This book combines the science, anatomy and physiology of the spine to uncover and explain the postures and movement patterns the body was designed to perform so that you eliminate the repetitive micro traumatic strain that leads to a weakening of the tissues until subsequent failure occurs.

But don’t be overwhelmed or intimidated as the science, anatomy and physiology is explained in Layman's terms. I don’t complicate anything. I love simplicity and as one of my mentors shared with me, write it like an 8-year-old can understand it. So, I did (a smart 8-year-old...wink, wink). It even has my famous stick person (some of you know this guy, I draw him on my white board) diagrams to help further explain some of the concepts in the book.

Now you might be asking who this book is for?

Well its for those of you:

  • That are suffering from back pain (or hip pain or really neck and upper back pain as I explain how its all connected)

  • For you, that are frustrated with the revolving door of care you get for your back

  • For you, just wanting to understand more about what you’re dealing with when it comes to your back pain

  • For you, who want a solution that requires no exercise program (well at least not the way you’re thinking), no core work, no foam rolling or stretching among other things.

  • For you, that want a chance at a pain free life

  • For you, that just wants to start using your body properly so that you can get stronger as you age rather than disintegrate.

  • For you, that want to avoid surgery or other invasive treatments

  • For you, that want to continue to be active without back pain

So if this describes you then this book will go beyond what you expect.

And if you know someone with back pain or hip, neck or upper back pain, then share this with them or since its

Christmas time this would make a great gift or stocking stuffer.

Finally, I just want to express my gratitude to all of you that I have seen in the clinic. Without you this book may not have been written.

With gratitude,

Dr. Garret Kusch
