The Balance Method
For more than a decade, Performance Integrated Health Registered Acupuncturist, Christopher Turpin, has studied and practiced a style of acupuncture called the Balance Method which is adept at bringing many conditions into a state of homeostasis.
It is a very powerful and effective method of acupuncture that uses distal needling (away from the injury site) to rebalance the body. This type of acupuncture avoids any possible aggravation at the injury site. This system of acupuncture is based on the I Ching.
He also uses Worsley style 5 element acupuncture which focuses on treating mental/emotional disorders.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the practice of inserting solid fine needles into specific body points to improve, restore and maintain health and well-being.
Electro-Acupuncture
A form of acupuncture where a small electric current is passed between pairs of acupuncture needles. Augments the use of regular acupuncture, can restore health and well-being
Moxibustion
A form of heat therapy in which dried plant materials called "moxa" are burned on or very near the surface of the skin. The intention is to warm and invigorate the flow of Qi in the body and dispel certain pathogenic influences.

Gua Sha
A technique that involves scraping along the surface of the skin produces petechiae (microperfusion) and slight bruising on the surface of the body in order to relieve pain. It also has both an anti-inflammatory and immune response.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin to create suction. Cupping Therapy helps with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being.
Tui Na (Acupressure)
A technique derived from acupuncture. In acupressure physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points by the hand, elbow, or with various devices.

Formal mindfulness, or meditation, is the practice of sustaining attention on body, breath or sensations, or whatever arises in each moment. Informal mindfulness is the application of mindful attention in everyday life.
